Buyer FAQs

Clear answers before you commit.

The key commercial and practical questions in one place.

Your questions, explained.

From whom does the buyer acquire the credits?

BluZone Trading facilitates and coordinates access to credits. The seller, contracting parties and any intermediary roles are identified in the transaction documentation. Project references include KenGen and the Lake Turkana Wind Project, subject to confirmation of the particular opportunity.

What documentation is required?

The documents generally include an NDA, term sheet or offer, ERPA, project registration and verification information, and the invoice and payment instructions. The final requirements depend on the transaction.

How is the price established?

Pricing depends on the credit type, vintage, regulatory status, volume and agreement structure. Any wider impact component should be explained and supported by evidence. A transaction-specific offer sets out the proposed price; no price range is guaranteed on this website.

How does the buyer execute payment?

Spot purchases, structured payments or instalments may be discussed, subject to agreement. The supplied process describes bank transfers to original project owners. The actual payment schedule, payees and conditions must be set out in the signed documents.

How does the buyer receive the credits?

Where the agreed route permits, credits are transferred electronically through the relevant registry, such as the CDM registry, to the buyer’s designated account. Registry eligibility, account requirements and transfer restrictions must first be confirmed.

Who receives the payment?

Payment follows the mutually agreed settlement structure. The transaction documents should identify each payee, the amount due and the applicable payment conditions.

How is commission charged?

Commission can be structured as a margin within the price or as a separately specified commission per transaction. The arrangement is tailored to the transaction and should be clearly agreed and documented.

What should a buyer provide to get started?

An indicative volume, preferred credit type or project, purchase timeframe, intended use and any registry or documentation requirements help progress the initial discussion.

Does purchasing a credit complete an offset claim?

The appropriate treatment depends on the credit, scheme rules and intended claim. Transfer, holding and retirement are separate matters. Confirm the applicable requirements before making an environmental or compliance claim.
